Match Predictions for Round 7 (26/09/2009 to 28/09/2009) 26 September, 2009

Portsmouth - Everton
Prediction: 0 - 2
Everton looked to have turned the corner with their recent results, while Portsmouth are still searching for their first point. They will have to continue looking next week.

Blackburn Rovers - Aston Villa
Prediction: 1 - 1
Villa have won both their away games this season, but I have a feeling that Blackburn may just be able to hold out for a point.

Tottenham Hotspur - Burnley
Prediction: 2 - 0
It will be interesting to see how Spurs recover from two defeats in a row after such a great start. Burnley have not got a single point from their travels so far. Spurs should be good for all three points.

Birmingham City - Bolton Wanderers
Prediction: 1 - 0
Surprisingly, Birmingham now have the third best defensive record in the league, behind only Chelsea and Aston Villa. On the other hand, they have scored the fewest (on par with Portsmouth). A low-scoring win for the home team then.

Wigan Athletic - Chelsea
Prediction: 0 - 3
Wigan have thus far been trashed by Manchester United and Arsenal. I expect Chelsea to put them to the sword next.

Stoke City - Manchester United
Prediction: 1 - 2
Britannia Stadium is not an easy place to get points from - even Chelsea needed a very late goal to take three points. United will probably face the same tough battle.

Liverpool - Hull City
Prediction: 4 - 0
Liverpool are in fine scoring form, and have the tendency to walk over smaller teams at home. Hull is in trouble.

Fulham - Arsenal
Prediction: 1 - 3
The worry for Arsenal must be that they are conceding too many goals away from home - 7 in 3 games so far, but Fulham aren't exactly showing the level of performance that they were capable of last season.

Sunderland - Wolverhampton Wanderers
Prediction: 2 - 1
No joy for Mick McCarthy on his return to his former club.

Manchester City - West Ham United
Prediction: 2 - 0
Manchester City should bounce back from derby-day drama. West Ham aren't as convincing this season.
